instruction & Trips
Whether you are a first-timer looking for paddling instruction, you want to build your skills, or you want to enjoy a safe, exciting trip on flat water or the river, we can tailor a lesson or guided trip to fit your needs.
Interested in learning to kayak but don't know where to start? Let Gradient's experienced instructors get you pointed in the right direction. Our instructors are certified by the American Canoe Association (ACA), which means they teach the most current paddling techniques that translate through paddle sports education centers nationwide.
Gradient's qualified staff offers a variety of water outings for all abilities, including flatwater touring on Buffalo Bill Reservoir, sunset paddleboarding at Newton Lakes, or kayak fishing on the Shoshone River to catch the big lunkers.
Wild West Paddle Club
The Wild West Paddle Club was created to introduce youth ages 10 to 18 years old to whitewater kayaking. WWPC is a nonprofit offering introductory instruction in whitewater kayaking for young, aspiring paddlers.
Our highly skilled volunteer instructors help provide beginners with a safe and fun learning environment as we build skills ranging from the basics to more advanced whitewater skills. Topics covered during our twice weekly summer sessions include an introduction to kayaking equipment, river safety, proper paddling, bracing, eddy turns, bow rescues, reading the river, and more.
